When we approached Dan at Heronswood, we had purchased a development site which had an Outline Planning Permission for 3 bungalows and the retention of an old bungalow to the front of the site. Dan very quickly identified that he thought improvements could be made to the approval and he succeeded in gaining permission for an extra unit (as a replacement dwelling to the host property). As we weren’t expecting to be issuing a revised brief for the extra unit, we asked Dan to design something that met current market demands for an executive home. Not only did Heronswood improve our return on the investment made, by improving the 3 dwellings on the remainder of the site, he also gave us a flagship property at the entrance to the site, helping raise the profile of the development. As a result of the success of the design we went on to agree a deal for Dan and his family to buy the property, where he still lives!
