Residential Building – Welton
We purchased a plot of land in Welton with detailed planning permission in November 2009. After initial discussions with Dan Rontree it was clear that however much we tweaked the original design it was never going to be quite right. It was at this stage we decided to go for a revised scheme and re apply for permission. Dan attended with the initial pre planning meetings with West Lindsey to agree an acceptable scheme. Heronswood then produced detailed drawings taking into account West Lindsey’s comments and local aspects of other properties in the area to give the design a better chance of fitting in with the village conservation area. From the start it became clear Heronswood’s ability to communicate with West Lindsey’s planning department was to be crucial to the success of the scheme. We also had archaeological conditions on the site to consider. Heronswood working together with a recommended structural engineer and archaeological contractor formed an acceptable mitigation strategy and a suitable solution was engineered to build over the archaeological remains on the site. When the build started we employed Heronswood to cover the property through CIAT certification. Throughout the whole process Dan guided us through the many obstacles we encountered taking us from a plot of land to a finished house. We have had lots of positive comments from local residents and friends about the design of our home and can highly recommend the service we received.
